The Kofu UFO Incident: A Witness Recalls a Touch on the Shoulder and ‘Fake Plane’ Footage

On February 23, 1975, two boys in Kofu are said to have seen lights, a disc, and a nonhuman being at dusk. Even as the half-century-old memory contains uncertainty about the precise time, the witness tells in his own words a story stretching from that evening’s pursuit of the lights to sightings he reports today.
From two lights to a disc in a vineyard
The account begins with two orange lights in the southeastern sky, one of which allegedly stopped about 100 meters overhead. After hiding in fear, the boys saw a glow like a fire in a vineyard on their way home; the closer they came, the more it looked like a silver disc. From there, the memory becomes stranger. The witness says he was tapped twice on the shoulder from behind. When he turned, he saw a being with a large head, a wrinkled face, and what appeared to be fangs—the encounter at dusk now moving into contact with something nonhuman.
The orange light seen by the family, and contradictions at the site
The boys ran home and returned with their families. Several people then watched an orange light about 50 meters away. The witness remembers that, just before the light intensified to white and disappeared, a humanoid silhouette appeared to enter it. However, no one saw it land. Damage later found on a post, holes at the site, and the mismatch between an object he felt was about five meters wide and an opening in the grape trellis of roughly one meter remain unresolved inconsistencies.
Sightings said to have continued for 50 years
According to the witness, the story did not end that night. He began seeing UFOs frequently about a week after the incident, and says this has continued for more than 50 years. He points to straight lines in the sky unlike clouds, and to orbs that appear after wind changes the clouds’ shape, as clues for finding them.
‘Fake planes’ disguised as aircraft
The second half shows footage of an object that looks like an airplane. The witness calls it a ‘fake plane,’ saying it does not appear on a flight-tracking app, remains in almost the same place for a long time, and changes into an airplane-like shape. Several lights can also be seen nearby, visually linking his memory of 1975 with his present-day reports.
